Movers & Shakers: July 2026 HR Tech Landscape

Written by SJ Hood | Aug 4, 2026, 11:38:53 AM

As we move further into the second half of 2026, one trend continues to gather pace: AI is becoming less about automation and more about intelligent decision-making. This month's announcements show vendors investing heavily in connected AI platforms, workforce intelligence, skills development and seamless integrations.

Alongside this, we're continuing to see recognition for platforms that are delivering measurable business outcomes rather than simply adding new features. It's clear that what matters most is still how these platforms actually impact you, the end user.

Here's what caught our eye this month 👇

Bamboo launches its new AI capabilities

BambooHR has launched Bamboo AI, a new connected intelligence platform designed to work in the background while HR leaders focus on empowering their people. Rather than acting as a standalone chatbot, Bamboo AI connects information and workflows across the platform to help automate tasks, surface insights and support decision-making.

We're seeing a clear shift away from AI as a standalone feature towards AI acting as an intelligent layer across the entire HR platform. For HR teams, this means less time spent navigating systems and more time focusing on strategic priorities, while routine administration becomes increasingly automated.

HiBob doubles down on AI skills and community

It has been another busy month for HiBob! First, CEO Ronni Zehavi was named one of HR Executive's Top 100 HR Technology Influencers, recognising his contribution to the future of HR technology.

HiBob also launched a new AI Skills Framework and accompanying assessment guide, helping organisations understand the AI capabilities they'll need as work continues to evolve. This is a useful tool for anyone who wants to embrace AI as it can assess whether or not you're ready and what you need to do to get there.

Finally, HiBob announced a new partnership with Slice, the AI-native global equity compliance and management platform for modern finance teams, focused on making equity management, governance and workflows easy and automated.

ADP Lyric HCM has been recognised as a Leader in the 2026 Nucleus Research Enterprise HCM Value Matrix, highlighting the platform's strength across usability, functionality and customer value. Usability and employee experience were the main criteria called out by the judges which is a great reminder to vendors that innovation that doesn't centre the users isn't the path to success.

This month's announcements reinforce a shift we've been watching throughout 2026:

AI is becoming the infrastructure that underpins modern HR technology rather than an add-on. While we are still seeing things like agents being added to platforms, these agents and features are slowly being wrapped up within an AI ecosystem. What makes that exciting is the potential for ease of use and self-service. What makes it scary is the need for better, cleaner data paired with a lack of upskilling in that area across the industry.

That said, the vendors making the biggest splashes aren't necessarily those launching the most AI features. They're the ones that are really thinking about how HRs are actually using their platforms and building with the end user in mind. Whether that means integrations, UI design or partnering with other tech providers to give you a cohesive experience.

For HR and payroll leaders, the real opportunity is in getting your data foundations rock solid before investing in more AI. As these capabilities grow, it's going to be HR teams with real, reliable data that can make the most out of them.
