When did you start working at Silver Cloud HR?
How did you get into the HR industry?
My introduction to system-based HR started almost eight years ago, at Penguin Random House, the world’s leading trade publisher and home to nine creatively and editorially independent publishing houses. I helped introduce a new HR system across the business to effectively digitise core HR functions. Since then, I’ve been consumed by the possibilities of HR tech and now specialise in tech implementation at Silver Cloud HR.
What does the role of Implementation Consultant entail?
I am a primary contact for the entire technology implementation life-cycle, including configuration and project management. No two days are the same. The role can be quite reactive depending which stage of the implementation we are at.
Essentially, it’s my role to make sure that products are implemented on time and that clients are kept up-to-date with progress. I also support clients during the data upload and User Acceptance Stage (UAT) to ensure the product is configured properly and easy to use.
What has been the most exciting tech advancement in the last 10 years?
The advances in mobile phone technology have been phenomenal; to think we were all carrying Nokia type phones in the noughties but now most of us have smart phones.
How do you use technology in your everyday life?
Most of the technology I have is via my iPhone. I have apps to help track certain aspects of my life, from steps, to healthy eating and even wedding planning. I also use Amazon Echo daily, mostly to play music but sometimes to find out the news and call my family.
What would you say is the best thing about working at Silver Cloud HR?
Silver Cloud HR’s strength is its remote workforce. Many of us work from our own home offices, but we have an incredibly tight bond and shared passion for digitising HR. We are all experienced in both HR and technology and support each other.
It’s exciting working for relatively new company and to see how much we’ve progressed in the last couple of years; the team has more than doubled in size from when I started.
