How do I get more value from Dayforce after go-live?

Going live is the start, not the finish. Plenty of organisations get a Dayforce system working and then leave real value on the table — paying for capabilities they never switch on, or working around the system instead of with it. Here is how to keep getting more from it.

Common signs you are not getting full value

  • People are still using spreadsheets alongside Dayforce for things it could do.
  • You are licensed for modules or features you have never turned on.
  • Reports are pulled and reworked by hand rather than built once and reused.
  • Configuration has drifted as your organisation changed, and no longer matches how you work.
  • Managers and employees avoid self-service because it is awkward, so admin lands back on your team.
  • Adoption. The cheapest win is often getting people to actually use what you already have. Good self-service, clear guidance and a bit of nudging can take real load off your central team.
  • Optimisation. Revisiting your original configuration with the benefit of experience — tidying processes, removing workarounds, simplifying approvals.
  • Unused features. Switching on capabilities you are entitled to but never deployed, where they would genuinely help.
  • Reporting and analytics. Building trusted reports and dashboards once, so leaders get answers without a manual scramble.
  • Keeping current. Dayforce releases new features regularly. A light, regular review keeps you taking advantage of them rather than falling behind.

            Where the value usually is

                      Make it a habit, not a one-off

The organisations that get the most from Dayforce treat it as something they keep improving, with a regular rhythm of review — what is working, what is not, and what has changed in the business. A platform that fitted you perfectly at go-live will not fit forever, because you will not stand still.
