What is Dayforce Wallet and on-demand pay?

Dayforce Wallet is Dayforce’s on-demand pay feature. It lets your employees access pay they have already earned before the usual payday, without changing your underlying pay cycle.

How on-demand pay works

Normally, people are paid on a fixed cycle — weekly or monthly. With on-demand pay, an employee who has worked their hours can draw some of that earned pay early, through the Dayforce Wallet app, rather than waiting for the scheduled run. You keep your monthly (or other) pay cycle exactly as it is; the Wallet sits on top of it.

The feature includes a pay card (physical and digital), a view of current balances and earned pay, free standard transfers and faster transfers for a small fee, plus extras such as tip distribution and a simple savings tool.

Why employers offer it

The main reason is attracting and keeping hourly and frontline workers. Financial pressures are real, and the ability to access earned pay early is a genuine, low-cost benefit that many workers value highly. Dayforce points to customers who credit on-demand pay with helping them recruit and retain hourly staff, and to the way it removes the need to handle cash for things like tips.

Because it is built into the same platform, the earned-pay figure is based on real worked hours flowing through from time and attendance — so it stays accurate without extra admin.
