About the project

When leading accountancy and advisory firm Berg Kaprow Lewis (BKL) decided to modernise its HR operations, the search for a robust HRIS (Human Resources Information System) led them to a partnership that would reshape the way they manage their people and processes. 

Through the implementation of HiBob, guided by Silver Cloud, BKL, an advisory with 450 employees, transitioned from a frustrating, outdated platform to a dynamic system that has delivered real-time insights, streamlined operations, and empowered HR and payroll teams.

The challenge

Like many organisations, BKL began its HR tech journey on a system that promised much—but delivered less. Initially using a different system for their HRIS, the experience began to deteriorate when the platform introduced an untested overhaul. 

“Our old system changed their whole experience, rolled it out to a small group of companies. It clearly hadn’t been tested properly. We were one of those and it was just an utter nightmare. It caused far more problems than it solved.” 

The issues led to widespread frustration internally, sparking an 18-month journey to find a better solution. Kester and his team reviewed five to six potential providers before narrowing their options down and ultimately choosing HiBob.  

As a strong HiBob partner, Silver Cloud was brought in to set the system up and roll it out across BKL. Silver Cloud was a great match for BKL because of our deep implementation expertise and understanding of the nuances of HR needs in professional services.

The solution

Silver Cloud entered the picture as a strategic implementation partner, working closely with BKL to guide the transition to HiBob. 

Silver Cloud worked hand-in-hand with BKL not only during the initial rollout, but also in helping them establish a process of continuous improvement—ensuring HiBob evolves with the organisation. This change eliminated data silos and reduced errors, while also improving security and efficiency. Silver Cloud’s thoughtful setup enabled BKL to make the most of HiBob’s features from day one. 

“Obviously the build that we did at first was based on what do we think we need now to get this going. Nine months later, we’re like, OK, that’s been running well. Let’s have a review. Let’s go to the business, what works, what doesn’t work, and we can just make instant changes.” 

This adaptability was key to the success of the project.  

Their expertise also extended to strategic advice and practical setup that suited the way BKL works—empowering them to drive more value from the system. With Silver Cloud’s guidance, BKL’s transition to HiBob has been more than just a system swap—it’s been a cultural shift towards smarter, faster, and more human-centric HR management.

The future

Now that HiBob is embedded into BKL’s daily operations, the outlook is exciting for them. The flexibility of the platform means that future changes can be made with confidence and speed. 

“It just gives us that opportunity to do that,” Kester says, referring to the ability to make instant, reactive changes based on feedback from the business. “Which we need to be able to react in a timely, effective way.” 

In the future, BKL may look to expand their HiBob usage further. But, for now, they’re happy to be making the most of the system and finally being on the right platform.
