About the project
Octopus Money is a UK-based financial services company, launched in 2023 as part of the Octopus Group. The business provides personalised money coaching, financial advice and investment support, helping make high-quality financial guidance more accessible and affordable through employer partnerships.
As a fast-growing organisation with ambitious plans, Octopus Money needed a solid HR foundation that could support its people strategy from day one.
To achieve this, the team partnered with Silver Cloud to implement HiBob, with a focus on creating a system that could grow alongside the business and support future development.
The challenge
As a relatively new organisation, Octopus Money was building its HR infrastructure for greater sustainability and stability. The priority was to put the right foundations in place early, rather than having to fix or replace systems later.
At the same time, the team needed to think ahead. While the immediate focus was on Core HR, there was already interest in more advanced functionality, particularly around HiBob’s reporting and workforce planning capabilities.
This meant that the Core implementation needed to deliver immediate value, while also setting the business up for future phases. That way they could keep the enthusiasm and buy-in high throughout the full process.
Beyond that, they needed that platform to help them boost their culture by making HR more self-service, giving them deeper insights with data and surveys and taking the manual tasks out of performance management.
The solution
Octopus Money worked closely with Silver Cloud to deliver a successful HiBob Core implementation, with a strong focus on collaboration and flexibility throughout the project.
The working relationship played a key role. Having direct access to a knowledgeable consultant meant the team could ask questions as they came up and get clear, practical answers quickly. This helped build confidence and kept the project moving at pace.
The implementation itself was delivered smoothly, with Octopus rating the experience a client satisfaction score of 10 out of 10, confirming that they were happy with both the project outcomes and their consultant.

The future
With Core HR now in place, Octopus Money has a strong foundation to support its ambitions. The business is well positioned to build on its HiBob platform as its needs evolve.
There is already ongoing discussion around future enhancements, particularly in relation to reporting and workforce planning. As the company evolves, these capabilities will become increasingly important in supporting decision-making and resource planning.
